Norwich Tibet Week is a chance for East Anglians to discover the extraordinary beauty of Tibet and the Tibetan people. It is an opportunity for us to express our gratitude to His Holiness The Dalai Lama. We support He and His people in their courageous peaceful struggle for freedom and for basic human rights
Tibet is a beautiful land, unlike any other. It's naturally cheerful rugged people are suffering under a repressive foreign regime which is systematically destroying their culture and their country. This occupation has lasted 54 years. Despite this oppression, Tibetans continue to devote themselves to the benefit of all beings wherever they may be, sharing their ancient traditions of philosophy and compassion throughout the modern world. The last Norwich Tibet Week took place in September 2004 and although there are no plans for one in 2006, there will be other events in the future. |
